That is a good sized one, the largest one that we cut back in our woods was 61 inches across the stump. You didn't lift those rounds by hand. Lester

I made these gaffs several years ago to help landing bigger catfish. Now I use them (mostly the longer one) for pulling rounds out of the front of my pickup bed. It sure beats stretching and bending.

Nice tools!! I use a three pronged rake and a pulp hook. Help a lot!

I use cant hook with a homemade pivoting foot for lifting and rolling. Used that as a kid on the farm.
Railroad tie tongs for lifting and totin'. That was garage sale, I did NOT steal from any railroad customers.
Used a garden rake to retrieve from the trailer, but just got a garage sale Burpee 3 pronged garden weeder. Heated and bent the prongs out a bit and it is great. Longer handle than the rakes, and stronger against pulling the head off.

I want to get a hookaroon, 36 inch, lightest head. Probably Council Tool at Grainger, or Dixie.

There are 'standard head', 'cutting head or cutting edge', and 'Hume head'. I can't see any before ordering, what are the differences?
