new to the site. managed to finish complete rebuild of 272 xp (basket case) with help of threads on this site. seems to be on a good breakin cutting lite stuff.
So, the next basket case is this 288 xp lite. piston lost a chunk from bearing web and this got into big end rod bearing. The crank needs replacing. tried to
look up part number (5018161-01) on PT and several other parts sites but all show 501814901 as the crank part number. Has anyone run across this mis-match. other parts for the saw match up with 288 xp. sure would like to know about the 5018161-01 as marked on this crank. thanks for any leads.
