Got me approximately 5 bush cords of eastern white cedar slabs 8' long, got it delivered 20 miles for $300 can$. Planning on cutting some for kindling and fast heat for the house and the rest in 1/3rds for maple syrup. Burns quickly and produces about 1/2 btu per cord of sugar maple.
Behind and beside the slabs there is about 8 cord of mixed hardwood and softwood (from our farmer neighbours fencelines) .. up here oak, sugar maple, ash are hardwood. .. poplar, soft maples, basswood are softwood .... almost no one burns the real softwood.
