Chain Brake

I just bought a new saw online, a 395xp. The chain brake seems to be stuck in the on position, I can't budge it, I put so much pressure on it I thought it would break. I took the side cover off and still can't release the brake. Help

Are you sure it is stuck on? If it was, you should not have been able to remove it, as the band would be tensioned against the clutch drum.

Yeah, it was stuck on, the box it came in took a beating. I got it loose by putting all my 240lbs behind it, hooking the dawg under my workbench, now it seems to work with normal pressure.
