I think I want an Oregon "Powercut" blade. It's supposed to be faster, but the Oregon website gave me a crazy warning about kickback. I do a lot of plunge cutting. I have no idea whether the stock chain reduces kickback or what. Any suggestions? I'm smart enough not to stand directly behind the blade when I plunge cut.

AFAIK there's no reason you can't use a Powercut blade with Controlcut chain.
Powercut (LPX) is not rated as safe as Controlcut (BPX) by ANSI. Oregon is obliged to tell you this before you buy it in order to indemnify themselves from legal responsibility should you injure yourself.
I'm assuming your Jonsered has an inertia-triggered chainbrake.

I'm using 30 year old 34LG (predecessor to 21LPX) but not for cleaning up piles of branches.
