I took apart the clutch/sprocket housing, and where the weights are, it seems to be missing a spring connection between the weights.

Does anyone know exactly how this works?

The spring kinda looks like a Slinky that passes thru the 3 weights, but like I said, it is missing one section.

Can I buy a new spring, do I have to get a whole new assembly? What?

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

BS.

there's a Makita Rep in Denver, I've talked to them myself, (I have a 115 that needs some parts, someday) The Info is out there, do a search. I don't remember right off. Good Luck. Interesting handle, Bush Sniffer.

Thanks guys

I'll try dissassembling the clutch first, to see if I can reattach the spring together before I go searching for parts.

Also, if anyone knows, can I put a bigger bar on the same model saw?

Thanks!

Sniffer out!

Hi Bushsniffer,

Maybe you have already tried this, but if not, I would adjust the throttle screw before disassembling the clutch. It's a heck of lot easier and quicker! :)
