Chainsaws muffler compatibility

Wondering if there is any compatibility between Stihl muffler fitments. Particularly: will a MS461 muffler or muffler fit on a MS661 or MS661 muffler base? How about MS460, or the new MS462?

How about will a MS660 muffler bolt onto a MS661?

Check the IPL's for stock #'s. If you don't have them ask for them in the beg for manuals thread in chainsaw stickies.

The numbers will be different, even if they fit and have the same bolt pattern. The first 4 numbers are for sure different depending on model family.

460 will fit 461 but I think that’s all that interchange
