cherry slabbing

First cut. Scored these beauties from a friend of my girlfriend's. He had an area of his property cleared to open it up for a view and I came to save him from the giant clean up. Oh, well. I like when everyone gets something out of a deal.

Me on the mini mill.

Yellow birch, cherry and some real nice maple to be had.

Not to mention that this place is in God's country. 2200 feet and not a soul to be found. Just the way I like it.

Isn't that the truth. Same could be said for walnut, oak, sycamore, maple, osage orange, locust, etc.

The best wood comes from free logs. Working on a pecan now. Have to go look at it, she is going to have a tree service take it down, I get dibs on the trunk.
