Circlip failures?

ok, I got it now. I was too quick to post and too slow to read. I thought the squared clips were an afterthought and that the question was whether or not circlips and retaining rings were interchangable. Sorry to add to the confusion. I'll go back to my machine now......



wait a minute, you need an internal, not an external. The external one has the squared base, not the internal one....

Trust me, retaining rings work as do circlips. just use new ones

The simplest solution is to never re-use old circlips, ever.
