I've always wonder how Christmas vacation could have been so great and the rest, not including the 1st one, could have been so bad. Maybe bad is too strong a word, but the rest were never as great a movie as Christmas vacation or Vacation were.
I like the first one also, but Christmas vacation is a classic.

Funniest Christmas movie ever. So many memorable lines--but our favorite is "Fixed the newel post!" for every time we screw something up, but it turns out OK. Lots of minor errors in the movie that some folks like to point out. Only one that bothers me--I never had my Mac start on the first pull. Check out where Ellen's hand is when the cops say "Freeze."
