Holy crap!

You trust roping from that cut frond? Yikes!

I never use climbers on live trees, unless of course it's a removal. But when I happen to do Palm take downs, just by ascending -my gaffs drive so far into the tree, that it takes nearly everything I have to pull them out.

Does anyone have a remedy for this? All I need is an inch of gaff to climb, but there are no spurs that short.
