i have a douglas fir about 150 ft i have been loosing branches from about 3/4 of the tree down loosing top ones that snapped about 8 more branches on the way down from the weight of snow on saturday wy concerned the other fir trees didnt have any damage.

Is it near any structures or anything else that might be a problem?

sounds like an unfortunate situation. once conifer limbs have broken or been taken off, it is not really realistic to expect new growth. if a bit of foliage remains, it is possible that some growth will continue in that area. we would be interested in seeing some pictures.
