I have a MAC 3516 (love it my favorate saw) :blob2:

and I have a Polland Pro 295 (hate it) :blob5:

the PP295 has a 20" bar and chain can it be coverted to a 16" bar and chain?
If so is it by any chance posible to convert it to the same sprocket, bar and chain as the MAC 3516 ?

I just converted a Mac 250 to a 3/8 pitch sprocket, maybe you can also. I just don't know alot about MACS. The sprocket was a spur type made by Oregon.

The poulan uses a 9mm mounting slot, the Mac, a 1/4" slot, this is a no go right here. chain pitch, probably, IF you've got a rim sprocket on it and a rim of the pitch desired on hand.

ok figure that the same wouldn't work but atleast converting it to a 16" bar would be great does any one know the part numbers for the proper sprocket, bar, and chains needed to do this?

Get a chain tensioner to put on your 295, and put a rim sprocket on it. That's what I did. I just went into my Husky dealer's, and found a rim sprocket set up to fit it. I'm presently running it with a 14" bar and the low profile 3/8s chain.
