Cut, trim, or leave it be?

- I have been trying to figure out who to ask if I can cut down this tree and not have my house foundation slab get screwed up because of it (roots, etc). I'm worried about any ramifications. I'm not sure what type of tree it is. Do I call an ISA certified arborist or are they more qualified at just cutting/trimming trees, etc?
- Should I just trim so it's not weighted more over the walkway anymore. I fear it will look kind of stupid if I take off the big branches where it Ys off.
- Should I just leave it be?

Cut it now while it's small... before the roots begin to compromise the foundation and/or sidewalk.

It seems to serve no useful purpose. Unless you just love it, get rid of it now before it is too big to handle.
