For the ‘concrete’ wood you have do people mainly use semi-chiz chain?
that’s what I’ve always used for dry blue or white gum Euc. The red gum we have cuts like butter, green or dry.

I don’t think there is necessarily a consensus. I asked the local stihl shop a while ago and they said they sell about the same of both. @trains uses semi chisel and @Rogue seems to run full chisel from the pictures I’ve seen. Maybe they can chime in, I do very little cutting but always use semi chisel - half a tank to tune and test for service and repairs and that’s about it at the moment.

Some.404 with a good radial wear edge, with 6.2 / 1/4 file ,

404 semi on a 066 or 084 for that sort of job.
Maybe 3/8 chisel on one of my small saws like 461 /462 for limbing cleaner timber. Not for redgum or dry grey box though

I wonder how this .050g 404 I picked up would do…SC rip chain but could be filed to the usual 30*.
not sure I’ve ever seen a 404 050g bar.

I like stihl .404 square or semi. Oregon full chis goes blunt in a jiffy.
