You actually would be looking at a coal stove. Just about all will burn wood . I have a Vermont castings vigilant from the 70s that burns wood great . Mine is exactly the same unit as this new one. I can still get every part for this stove mine even came with a snap in fire screen so you could use it like a fireplace. Open the doors pop in the screen a nice crackling fire They use to say it was a wood/coal burner but with wood it's no longer EPA compliant

I've seen several wood stoves with ash pans, but the only one I recall having a shaker is my fathers Jensen, which is a wood boiler with a water jacket around the firebox. They also have warm air furnaces with shakers. They got bought out by US stove I believe. As far as plain wood stoves, I cant think of any, but I bet they make one.
