Yes sir.6100 filter?
6100 filter is way way overkill but i like it. 1 1/2 yrs of cutting and i never cleaned mine.
nah...thats the inboard clutch that kills the handlingIf so, it likely contributes to a bulky and not so well handling saw?

No problem...Good info right there, thanks Nathan
Unless you were smart enough like some makita idiot to order 5-6 of the shinny 7900 cylinder covers before the 7910's were released... [emoji6]Here is my $0.02. Personally I think it hurts performance slightly. Going from the standard filter to the hd kit every saw I have installed them on needed leaned out just a bit.
Throw that pre filter away. The fines slip past it and into the paper filter pleats.....then the pre filter holds them there effectively plugging the filter pretty quickly.
The poor glue issue was resolved long ago and any kit you buy today won't have that issue.
On to the color issue since I was just asked about this today. Hd filter comes with the shiny black cover.
7900 red cylinder cover is nla
Shiny black cover only fits saws with left side decomp.
Matt black cover has the right side decomp.
What that means is if you have a 7910 the cylinder cover will be flat black and the air filter cover will be shiny black
Intake snorkel, OEM round rear cover, k&n for the 7900. Problem solved. If there was only a way to make this bad boy fit. It maybe possible with an xd top but man it would be a lot of fabrication.

Ha! Would if I had it done to one of mine...TPIWWP (This Post Is Worthless Without Pics) Lol
7900 cylinder cover doesn't work on the 7910, with the decomp having been moved.Unless you were smart enough like some makita idiot to order 5-6 of the shinny 7900 cylinder covers before the 7910's were released... [emoji6]

Use a 85cc bbk, or owners should quit whining and just use their saws as a tool like they were intended and not perfect shelf queens.7900 cylinder cover doesn't work on the 7910, with the decomp having been moved.
Then just leave the flat black cylinder cover on it.Use a 85cc bbk, or owners should quit whining and just use their saws as a tool like they were intended and not perfect shelf queens.
