Well its been a long time since I've posted here but I'm finally building a new logsplitter. This one is built into a running driving 92 F250 2wd. Had the beam and push plate built by Split EZ in Lebec California. 30 gal tank. 5" prince gladiator cylinder with dump valve.
I mounted it on a truck because it was cheaper than building a trailer, ease of moving it to the wood pile , lots of room to mount everything including the conveyor system off the back.
Still have a lot to do. Hoses getting made tomorrow. The beam tubing is 6x8x1/2" top plate is 1" steel . Still need to add wings to the wedge. Make a few mounts for valve and return filter.
There was a chap from the UK who built his on some sort of rover, it was a vertical splitter behind the cab, I always liked that one.
Plans for a log lift? Or a jib?
Looks beefy as all get out, nice!
No on the log lift. I have a fix for that part. I will be adding a conveyor though. The beam and push plate were built by Split-EZ in southern California. They build cool stuff.
