Dwarf Japanese Maple Question

I removed two Alberta Spruce bushes and planned to plant Dwarf Japanese Maples. Would the Alberta Spruces having been there create any concerns with the maples adapting? I pulled the spruces out by the roots but I'm sure there would be some small roots remaining?

You should be fine, although Japanese maples are a labor of love, a little finicky
