Echo 355t

Hello everyone.


I just bought an echo 355t for a basic climbing saw. Are there any recommendations to impove the saw beside muffler mod. Any input is appreciated.

Along that same line, my Echo 330T came with a catalytic converter, which I removed. The best thing other than that is a good bar and sharp chain.

If it has the same plastic or nylon somewhat hollow chain catcher as the rear handle version (361P) You could consider a few spares. I filled the void with some 2 part epoxy. One shattered in the cold weather lately. They sell a little tool with 3 pins and a spark plug sized hex to take the clutch off, might order one of them as well.

Many saws with a converter can be helped by installing a muffler from a previous series saw that didn't have a converter. I changed a couple of Dolmar 5100 mufflers and it helped a lot..

Muffler on that Echo is pretty easy to open up and makes a nice difference. A very slight timing advance gave a little improvement but not enough, imo, for the time spent.
I just do mufflers on these.

Every Echo needs a muff modd and good tuning. Steve

^^^^^ YES.... my lil 271 was boggy on throttle up and I took that personally. No more!

I have a 355T also and tried to see if that non-cat muffler would fit but no go. Bolt spacing was different so out came the die grinder!
