There have been many threads started on these saws and not much has came out about the true differences between all these saws. They are all 59.8cc Does anyone have timing numbers for any of these saws? What parts interchange? Can we put a 620 cylinder on a 590 and have a real runner for cheap? IPL only tells part of the story. The 590, 600p, 620p/pw are current models. 600 I am not sure of the year discontinued. I seem to remember it in the price list for 2012?????? Does Echo put out HP numbers anywhere?

“echo 590 crankcase P021043311
piston P021038790
cylinder A130002041
carb hda268a
rear handle C410001251

600 crankcase P021042160
piston P021015190
cylinder A130000910
carb hda274
rear handle C410000467

600P crankcase P021015134
piston P021038790
cylinder A130002040 ( This should be 2041 same as the 590)
carb hda268
rear handle C410001251

620P/PW crankcase P021044010
piston P021043990 $55.45
cylinder A130002160 $120.20
carb hda316
rear handle C410001251

I have looked, pistons and cylinders are full price OEM expensive, no aftermarket stuff for them. So I don't know about cheap, unless you get given a toasted one and only have to pay for the p/c.

I guess cheap is relative to the individual though.

590 is $389/$399 LIST. lightly used one would sell for $200-300? My main question is to the people that have had them apart. Can the 620 cylinder be installed on the 590? Intended for this thread to be a good resource for those that are looking at this series of saw. What are the true differences and what interchanges for those that buy a 590 and want to upgrade. What are crankcases made from on all models...Mag or Aluminum. 590 has magnesium case so what is the difference between it and the 600p 620p

Ive got a ? also.
had Mweba port my 600p, big difference!
I think now it needs a unlimited coil, while sawin with it ,i think anyway it gets up to the coil limit and just levels out ,needs a few more rpms to take advantage of the portin.
will the 620 coil fit?

$120 for OEM cylinder is pretty good compared to other OEM jugs IMHO. i just looked at a 372XP jug that $400 was the asking price--

if the 620 cylinder will fit the 590????-- that could get interesting--!!!

and the coil will a 620 coil work on a 600/590 FW??--

It should fit from all the part numbers i checked. case haves and crank are the same so i see no reason that it wont fit. i would check intake boot numbers before i tried it but i believe everthing except the cylinder, piston, carb is the same.

-- humm i wonder how well a ported 620P jug and piston would run on my old "plastic" 590!!--LOL

thats good to know--

Traded a 44/46 Hybrid for a 590 I ported about a year ago and some cash and after running I believe there is more inthe saw. A bigger carb would be nice and I feel an unlimited coil would do the trick. Just runs out of rpm's uphigh when its bouncing off the limiter in wood.

Would like to know if the FW's are the same or if just the coil would work. I've tried every extra coil in my possession to see if it could work but nothing close. After unlimiting a couple of my 7900's I think that's what the 590 needs.

I imagine a carb and coil would be spendy but would be fun to see if it can be done. And of course a 620 wrap handle would need to be added.

Even ported it's going to make the most HP at 10000 to 11000 RPM, lean on it some instead of letting it scream.. Steve

i got a 620 coil on mine it does give it a bit more rpm the 590 could benefit from less plastic.

Yes....I understand the 620 carb is slightly larger and unlimited coil would be a boost for the 590.

Jake, you have a 620 coil on a 590? Did you need to change fly wheel also?

Hi Poleman,
I lived west of hill city ,then in Custer for a few years.
That was back in the early 90s.
loved it out there ,but couldnt make a go of it so moved back to iowa.

no i didn't need to change flywheels only the coil both the 590 and the 620pw use the same flywheel.
the 620pw coil part number is A411001430

Jake, thanks for that onfo...getting me in the mood to play with it some more.

Hoskvarna, Hill City/Custer area is my favorite area....and you understand why. Mountain Pine Beetle are devistating those areas now....sad to see.
