Well, here are my new saws. Thought I'd better get a photo before they do a lot of cutting and don't look new anymore!

Those are my two boys holding their new Stihl saws that they bought with the Christmas money they got from Grandma that they've been patiently holding onto!

Thanks to all for your recommendations and help -- I appreciate it very much!

God bless,
Chris Charles

Looks like a fine pair of saws (and boys). Now get them all put to work.

There is no shortage of firewood in Southwest Iowa.

Hey Don,

Where in Southwest Iowa do you live? We're 10 miles west of Osceola. My grandma lives in Red Oak, and one of my Uncles lives out by Corning.

God bless,
Chris

I live about 12 mi straight east of Red Oak. I grew up southwest of Stanton.

I work in Creston with a few people from your neighborhood.

I've got more wood to cut than I have time to get at it. I started this season out really behind as I spent most of the summer putting a new roof on the house.

I've come accross a spot where they girdled about 1000 black locust trees this last summer. I know of a place by Maxwell that they pushed a whole farm of hardwood timber into the ditches. They didn't even pull off saw logs. I may have to get a woodstove for the shop too.
