Hello all!
About 10 years ago, I planted two arborvitaes on my property. They were about 4 feet tall. Today, they are about 15 feet high and they are beautiful!
I noticed a few days ago, that the very top of one of them is going brown and I am seeing these little brown "turret" like things hanging off the leaves of my tree. I'm also seeing some creapy crawly things climbing up the truck of the tree itself. I live in New Jersey and I have never seen anything like this before. Is it possible that I have Cicadas? And if yes, is the damage to the tree cosmetic only? I have a picture, but it's hard to see. You have to look real close to the tips. Thank you.
