Need some advice and input on dump box size for 1999 F550. Should I go steel or aluminum?Truck already has behind cab large tool box. Worried about weight? Will be towing Bandit 90 .

If money isnt the object go with aluminum. Do a thick alum. box and it will be lighter and stronger than steel!

Plus no rust! A steel box will generally need to be replaced after about 7 years. I like to buy my trucks new and keep them 10 years before selling. An exception will probably be my '96 Dodge 1 ton with aluminum chipbox and Cummins diesel. I plan to keep that truck until I die.

Another food for thought you probably can get aluminum cheaper than mild steel right now I know its that way here in B.C. Canada.
