Looking at some parts on Amazon, was trying to find parts for my Stihl 046 and Farmertec popped up for some spec size, but cheaper parts. No internals, just for plastics. Does anyone have some experience with Farmertec parts and if they're any good? Any other good off-brands too?

the plastics aren't all that bad . I have been using the farmertec -china parts for a few years for customer saws .(crushed saws the customer wants to spend $100 compared to $300+ on oem to get them up and running ) . I stay away from intake boots, fuel and impulse lines but the av rubber isn't too bad. it is hit and miss on internal parts

I'm looking into it a handle/gas tank. Might be nice to have the newer style fuel tank vent too

The handle-gas tank for the stihl saws have been great to keep a old saw cutting for cheep money but it is what it is and wont take the abuse OEM will

i have received my new parts from farmertec and you can see on this pic ! im not happy

But think of all the money you saved! [/sarcasm]

Not sure about you guys, but from where I sit, life is too short to futz around with cheap might-work crap.

this part is for husqvarna 262xp and that cylinder is not very good. i found a scratch and inside the cylinder i found a spot look like and old rust spot removed by machine.

cylinders I have seen threw the last few years are hit or miss. spending $25 or less you cant expect the quality of a OEM jug , and if you do that's on you

i have contacted compagny before to see what happen with this error before a fun test

Bedford T seems to be the resident expert here (at least for 660s) on which FT parts seem to work and which ones don't. You might want to check out his 660 build thread, which is usually on the first or second page of the Chainsaw subforum...he and others seem to update it regularly.

I think Afleetsupply also deals with a lot of FT parts and kits...

Apart from carburetors, all cheap pattern parts are hit or miss, plastics included.
Sometimes they fit, sometimes they don't, sometimes they hold up, sometimes they disintegrate in a matter of weeks...

Good if you want to **** around on a budget, but I don't want that junk on my saw, leaf blower or whatever when I have several hours of work ahead of me.

Here's some photos of Farmertec MS200T parts (pre-Huztl Kit) from July 2018. Did not have any luck with the two carbs I bought, but the metal cast & machining seems decent enough.
This build was an experiment to run the Farmertec parts till it implodes. Tried to use everything as received without modification or OEM replacement where possible, even used the Farmertec spark plug. There was no Huztl kit at that point, so a few parts like the carburetor connector, oiler connector and some AV screws and springs had to be OEM; carburetor refused to idle, so ended up with used rebuilt of OEM carb. But engine and other moving parts are Farmertec (90%). Failure to date after running almost 30 tanks are: Carburetor, Intake boot, Oil pump.
The problem with Farmertec is that the products are inconsistent. For example, the oil-vent line that came with the tank assembly was very nice, but when I ordered a stand alone piece, it was too long and kinks when you install it.

Plastic fit for the Farmertec MS200T is not as good in some areas. Look at gap between brake-cover and body. Handle has no marking for the throttle-choke control lever. Brake assembly molding in 5th picture has the clutch brake support ribs telegraphing through.

Hope the pictures helps in showing Farmertec aftermarket parts qualities and deficiencies.

These parts are not for Pros who depend on their saw for a living. For hobbyists and majority of causal users who use their saws less than 10 times a year, these parts may be good enough.

After 20 plus tanks ... plastic covers had to be trimmed during initial assembly.

I'd say the same. Parts are hit and miss. My 660 clone I had to get another elbow for fuel tank, oil pump, and I went ahead and replaced decomp with OEM parts. The casting on the cylinder was good looking, but time will tell.
On my 070 Made 090 I only replaced the carb. A needle had broke off in carb. When i made it into an 090 I ditched the plastic needle bearings and got an oem for clutch. (thanks to the Aussies for affordable parts) Now the cylinder kit was garbage the ports were rough and they scratch the piston. They were no where near the quality of the cylinder coming off the saw. I ported it and noticed chrome flaking, polished it out. 30 mins worth of run time the chrome flaked off again and seized the saw. Huztl gave me a full refund on it they said it had happened to others. I ordered another 66mm bore from the Australian dealer Ill see what that's like when it comes in.
