Because of a personality failure or genetic defect
I've never had and luck sharpening a chain with a file
I've been using a HF grinder for a while but its
time to move up
I've never tried to sharpen 404 chain on the HF and think it could
a waste of time
soooo I've got 200 or so to spend
I've looked at the Northern tool grinder but I'm not sure it
will do a 404 does anyone know?

All and any suggestions appreciated'

Thanks
I bought the carelton
I don't know why I chose that one
The NT is now 119 plus 15 shipping
so for a few dollars more I decided to buy from one
of our sponsors
A bit different but hopefully it will work as well

How do you like the grinder?

I just ordered one as well from Edge & Engine. I was using the HF grinder but Just got feed up with it's flimsy arm & chain stop.

i mabe a day late an a dollar short. Get u a silvey 510 for round chisel. You will never look back. I am happy with mine. Round the drags off when you file them. Call madsens an ask for warren he wiil help you,an he will help you with correct grind n wheels. I kno i am late but this works, and take short filing tap or strokes 2 keep chain cool, if you get it blue, touch it up again.file it 29 degrees or so angle an watch it cut an grin.i bought mine in the early 90's an it was $500.00 dollars then but it was worth it,again an agin,i hope this helps,i sure did me.
