Old 60s ford, gasser, dual tandem, dump box.

Replaced coil and condenser, polished the points, ran a hot 12v directly to coil to eliminate 50 other variables to the ignition key switch....

Ziltch.... Notta single pop... Pulled a wire, no spark.

Ideas?

From the coil to the condenser? No. It has continuity. I verified with a meter.

Not sure if it mattered, I made sure the metal case of the coil is also grounded to motor block with a good clean clamp.

The super spark 140001 is all plastic housing, so it was never case grounded, for more information. Unless the bolts holding it to bracket somehow helps it achieve ground.

Sadly I. Drove and parked the truck there a few years ago.

Not sure what it's acting up.

Im frustrated. I just bought and shuttled home 400 gallon of gas for loader and truck. I need to modify my backyard, and porch corner before it washes down the hill. Lol.

Key on points closed, meter red on coil plus, condenser housing is 13v. (on a trickle)

After a couple minutes of key on it dropped to 6.8v

This a resistor box? They go bad? Why isn't shooting 12v from bstteru to coil not working?

Coil has connection from snd t oend of windings.

Im stumped.

It runs!

The f'in test lead I cut off this roll has a break in it.

Some roll that's been around since the 70s.

Haha. Damn.
