the front bar stud on my newly assembled ms310 is spinning, and I cant tighten the bar down.

How do I fix this?

The IPL calls it a collar screw, and it looks like lag or course self tapping threads, does this darn thing just screw into the plastic?

epoxy it up?

Yep afraid so. Piss poor design that 290-390 series.

I know all about the piss poor design, I just fixed it from parts.

IM wondering if anyone has successfully fixed this spinning stud before?

and if so, how?

It on spins 'cos some fool reefed on it real bad... I've only seen two in 5 years... that's a few thousand saws.... and some were real beaters.

There is a repair stud to fix that. I forget the part number.. but it was posted before on AS.

There are oversize studs available.

Unless your Stihl dealer is a worthless jerk like our local one.
