Fuel-Oil ratio

A friend of mine gave me a Patrner S 65 chainsaw. It used to be his Dad's and he has no use for it. No manual to refer to and I am not sure what the proper fuel mix is for this saw.

40:1 will work fine. Use good quality oil though. (Stihl or Husqvarna)

Yep, Echo or Stihl oil at 40:1 will serve you just fine.

Echo I believe is synthetic or semi-synthetic anyways.

I have a little different take on it.
I would run a good quality oil at about 40 to 1.

Echo oil is synthetic, and works fine for my 2-strokes 45/1.
It always seems to leave a nice oil film internally, yet the plugs are always light tan. I like Echo oil. JMO.

You just had to be different didn't you Mike.

Older 2 strokes were more forgiving of different mixes and oils. I ran a 1 gallon tank of straight gas through my lawnboy mower, it never missed a beat. Newer, high reving, tighter 2 strokes however might burn up far sooner.
The point is, 20 to 1, 32 to 1, 40 to 1, even 50 to 1, it doesn't really matter for an old Partner.
