Seems like I read somewhere that grass clippings as mulch wasn't a good idea because it didn't allow enough oxygen to get to the root ball.

Am I right?

thanks,

Grass clipping in a pile around a tree as mulch can cause fungus, insect problems and other problems. They can be mixed with leaves, soil and other organic material in a compost pile and can break down into rich soil, but pure clippings piled up as mulch not such a great idea.
