I took down this over 36'' dbh Hackberry December 07. It had damage from ice storms from years back.

I may get boooed but hacklebury's are not good yard
trees and would remove in a hazard area.
I would not have one near my house or in a traffic
area weak attachments plague this tree in my experience!
Looks like an easy job except cleanup.

I won't booo you. You are right. Hackberry trees literally out grow there own ability to stand. They are some of the first to go during and ice storm or a windstorm.
