Ive been checking out a super xl 925 i bought years ago, and have found it not to have any spark. I checked the switch , and it is fine. I cant find any serial number ID on this saw, but it says solid state ignition ,no breaker points on the cover. Is it the ignition module?, and are they available?, cost?

There are 2 types of solid state ignitions used on 925s. Most probably you have a 3 piece setup. Later models also came with a one piece module. The 3 piece ignition contains a module (67162), core and generator (67163) and a transformer (67164). You might check all of these connections for continuity. I have not had a failure yet and I can't say which component is more likely to fail. The parts can be a bit expensive, if you can find them. Sorry I can't offer any more advice.
