240 homelite coil problem
Hi I am a new member to this site. I have been retired for several years now and I am finally getting around to fixing things around the house. I have an old 240 homelite chainsaw it quit running 5 or 6 years ago, {give or take a few years}. Anyway I tore it apart way back when and never put it back together. I have cleaned the carburetor, oil and gas tank. Checked for spark, and I am replacing all the collapsed fuel lines. It appears that the collapsed lines are the reason for it not running. On inspection of the coil high tension lead the plug end is in poor condition and I would like to replace it. I have tried pulling it out of the coil but it won't budge. Does anyone know if the whole coil needs to be replaced or is the lead threaded into the coil or what?
Happy trails
