How long does it take you to split a few cords?

If it is dry pine...!

I can bust a cord an hour with my homemade splitter.
If it is green, it takes about 1 1/2 hour per cord. Size of rounds doesn't make a big difference. 3 or 4 way wedge makes the slow cycle time faster.

A four way makes a big differance, my homemade splitter is pretty quick and with a four way a cord per hour is not a problem, some of the rentals I have used in the past have been really slow.

Braggers

Hey all you fast splitting axe men and maul men. Try splitting some black gum and then tell me how long it took you to hand split the wood. Even with our Iron & Oak it is a real chore. The problem with splitting wood by hand or with a splitter is not so much how fast it splits but how fast you get the wood to the splitter.
