Rainy Morning in New Mexico-working on some saws...........
Questions refer to husky 154.
Cylinder on this one was not perfect but cleaned up decent. Expanded the exhaust port a little-- left the cylinder end alone, but opened up and polished the muffler end. Did the same to the input. Installed a GB 254 piston----looks almost identical to the old 154 piston. Lubed up good and put the compression tester on it and pulled the saw off the ground. WOW 180 psi w/o running, but lots of oil in the cylinder. Two questions: Is this suspiciously too high?-- has stock gasket so I didnt do squish--
Second question, Ive seen some comments about bigger carbs for this saw. What do you guys think??? It will have muffler mod- brazed in tube with Stihl stainless arrestor.
