I like mine, I ain't had no problems and I just got through bucking up six 18" pines about 100 foot long each. Didn't miss a beat as a matter of fact.

External clutch.... but it's not a problem for me. After cutting all that wood, I dissasembled, cleaned and resharpened the chain. When it comes time to replace the drive sprocket, I'll probably go for a rim kit.

If you dont mind me asking what did the saw cost you. There is one listed on ebay right now supposedly brand new.

I got my 455 as a replacement for a faulty 359 I had bought at Lowes. They stopped selling the 359 (which my local Husky dealer said was only sold by Lowes because of it's inferiority to the other Husky line and dealers didn't stock them. LOL (Why I don't trust dealers) I had my choice of a full refund of purchase price or to take the 455 off the shelf, so I really can't tell you how much it cost. I saw some at Tractor Supply in Staunton, VA this week selling for around $375.

Are we talking about the new 445 or the oldish 455? As far as I understand they are completely different saws.

The 445 is the replacement for the 345.

You got boned, the 359 is a better overall saw with more power and less weight. I have not heard of any Lowes stores running out of 359's yet.

Good or bad saw?

Is this about the 445 or the 455?

The 445 has less power and more weight than the old 345........

Sorry for the confusion guys! I had a dyslexic moment! My saw is a 455 Rancher, not the 445 the origional poster was asking about.:deadhorse: I like my saw though, for what I use it for.
