husky 51 air leak

I'm working on 2 different husky 51s. Both seem to have an air leak around the seal for the impulse tube. Was this a common problem with this saw? or is it just a weird coincidence

Ya,it happens sometimes,the small round rubber got shrinked by gas.Replace it and be sure when you reinstall that your rubber glange is correctly installed too.
