Husky big saw performance?

Do the saws have any performance difference if using a small air filter vs. the big humpback air filter? I have seen that the 372XP comes both ways. Why is that? Are there any differences in usability?

I would think the only benefit of the taller filter would be longer cleaning intervals because of more surface area. I dont think you would notice a performance difference (unless you ran them both a long time and the smaller filter got plugged first).

I've never seen the 372 with the shorter filter.

Mine actually has the shorter filter (same as on a 365) and I prefer it. It seems less bulky.

I have seen catalog pictures with the short filter on the 372, but not seen one in person. I have the 365, with the short filter, and it seems to be fine.
