Thinking of selling one of these saws.
never ran either, so no frame of reference. So which one to keep?
288- new crank bearings, seals, new meteor piston, ( oem cylinder had a little scoring but cleaned up nicely) new oem top cover , rebuilt carb and I have a new k&s oem cylinder/piston for it in case the original is not right.
7901 - new nwp 84cc big bore , also acquired a stock cylinder 79cc cylinder/piston.
Both are in nice shape. Just thinking that I might buy some wooded property to retire on and would like a big saw to keep around. I don’t have anything to try them out on so that’s why I’m asking.

Both would be goods saws ....the 288 is a beast ...7 series dolmar/makita would also do well with the oem cylinder ...my choice would be the 288 (also since you have an extra NEW top end).... for big wood..... and 7 series if the wooded area has smaller tree's... if condition of saws were the same ..... you should find some large wood and try them for yourself ;)
