I have a husqvarna 49 1998 model, wondering if it’s a saw worth rebuilding? It has been a really good saw, no problems at all until recently it seemed to be getting low on power. I checked compression and got 125psi looked in exhaust port, didn’t see any scoring, but cylinder wall looked strange to me. It looks like cutter or boring marks around the cyl. Has anyone seen that before?
Is the Husq 45 and 49 the same piston and cylinder?
My dealer said they can get a new piston and cyl but cyl was $125 and piston was about $100 so I’m looking for a cheaper kit. Do Hyway make a kit for this saw or any other after market?
Thanks for the help

Thanks ammoaddict!
So this will be my first time rebuilding this saw or any saw for that matter.
I probably need to replace the crank seals, right? So when I do this do I need to use some kind of sealer? Do I also use sealer on the bottom of the cylinder? I’m thinking there are some rubber gaskets on the bottom of cyl. from a YouTube video I watched on a 55 I think it was.
