I recently bought a International 284 tractor that is in rough shape.
The tractor is 28 hp and has a loader, 3pt and 540 PTO but no remotes yet.
I'm thinking the current pump is about 6 gpm. It mounts to what looks to a 3/4 or 1" shaft off the harmonic balancer in the front of the engine.

Now I am wondering if the front pump is an add on for the loader and the 3 point hitch has it's own.
The hydro pump is questionable and the shaft maybe bent so I was thinking I may need a new pump.
In the future I may use it to split wood etc.
I was wondering what GMP pump would be recommended?
Single or two stage etc.
Something tells me a 2 stage 16gpm would be nice but wonder how that would work with the loader etc.
Or if it would fit in there.
I don't really want to run it off the PTO if I can help it.

Seems like 7-8 GPM is in the range.
If I get a 12-16 gpm @3600 rpm it should do pretty good at 1500-2500 RPM as it's a direct drive off the engine.
Anyone tried a two stage on a loader?

I have a Ram Splitter 20 ton on my 29 hp MS and it wouldn't run it so I got a 26 GPM to go on my power take off I do all my splitting on idle except knots and I have to step it up a little the pump is called a Princes pump Ram Splitter make a complete set up now.
