I had this done after a couple of years of zero problems. Neighbors had theirs done, and since the guy was here I had him do mine. 20' to 25' of pipe and a quart of light fluffy soot was all that came out.
A month or more ago, I took a stick and lightly tapped out length of the pipe and heard a bit of soot falling with the stove running full blast. Doing that, well seasoned wood, is all it really needs. I'm doing it right. Probably go 3 or 4 or more years til I'll consider doing it again.
Wood is so well seasoned I can shake the logs and the bark falls off easily. In the splitter, the ram pushes into the wood only a couple of inches and it splits. I season fallen or dead standing that is very green, stack it in the yard for 3 years and it is perfect.
