I ordered a Timberjig from Logosol a couple of weeks ago to use on some cedar I have on my place. It arrived and
so I started putting it together. Everything seemed to
going ok with it except the height adjustment plate that
slides up or down for board thickness.
I couldn't get the plate to tighten up on the height scale
to save my life. No matter how many times I read the
instructions or tried in different ways to get the gizmo that
is supposed to clamp it tight to tighten down it never would.
Finally I called Logosol and got the Timberjig guy. I told
him what I was having problems with (knowing it was
just a stupid oversight on my part), he said he would check on it and call me back. An hour or so later he calls and says he had a guy at the warehouse put one together
and sho' nuff he had the same problem I did.
Their supposed to call Sweden and find out the skinny
on it but I got to wondering "My Gawd don't they even
test these things before they put them on the market?"
I thought these things had been around a little while.
Or maybe it is a new and improved design change.
Anyway, I would hold off a little while if somebody's
thinking about getting one.
I did make the first two cuts with it on a log because you use a guide rail made out of boards instead of the jig itself
and it did fine.
