The title is a little baiting, I'll admit.
I've done tree work by using a dump truck as well as chip truck and wanted to see what everyone thought as their take on why to go with a chip truck over dump truck.
I do think that a chip truck is great btw.
I'm sure that many may think that the chip truck is just a better version of a dump truck for chipping into, but I've given this some thoughts as to why a dump truck might be a better option (in some cases).
-Dump trucks are more common and therefore more easily available and less expensive compared to their chip truck cousins.
-Dump trucks are more versatile because they can be top loaded, so you aren't just limited to blowing chips into it.
-Dump trucks can easily be outfitted with a roll-out cover to keep chips in.
-When comparing similar size trucks, it seems most dump trucks share the same type of capacity, or close enough.
What is everyone's thoughts on this?
