Is my evergreen tree dying?

I think it's some kind of fir tree. I noticed today a 7 foot branch fell and when I looked at the entire tree I saw it's covered with lichens I think? I read that lichens are not harmful but can they smother a tree or it just indicative of the declining health of the tree?
See photos. Is there anything I can do to restore it back to health? Thanks.

have lots of that in my area a bug is slowly killing alot of the spruce and pine. Unfortunately I haven't heard of a cure
