Extreme that ancient maple makes my trees look like spring chickens. :laugh:

Treeseer - I visited the site and bookmarked it for future ref. How great is that?
The mulching info was very clear and helpful.
However...
I read this and gulped: "The same herbicide that kills broadleaf weeds in your lawn is picked up by tree roots and can harm or kill your broadleaf trees if applied incorrectly.":eek:
I use Scotts Plus 2 every year for a weed free greener lawn. Is it hurting my trees then? OT OH!!

PS - Trinity your cow-lick er is a crack up.
 
I wouldn't do anything to the big guys except dead wood and extend the mulch out further. If you do a lot of pruning on trees of that age you run the risk of pathogen entry and poor wound closure. The pear tree looks like it could use some corrective pruning. over all nice looking trees.
