Here is some partly seasoned Kansas mulberry, as well as one in my yard. The tree itself will sucker at every cut. Note the very tight end grain.

Nice yea that ain't what I got barks even different. I burned some noodles of it today and it smelled amazing I am thinking its a hickory. The split wood itself has a nice smokey aroma and the shape of the tree itself with a short wide trunk and only a few large outreaching limbs kinda suggest it too. So I fell a much larger one of the same kinda trees yesterday over 50in across at the ground and here what she be looking like. Pics don't justify it but ill have more soonly

Those are ironwood. I am not sure what iron wood looks like inside. It’s been YEARS since the one ironwood I know I cut.
But I know elm doesn’t have a dark brown core.
Unless maybe it had a virus...
But then you would know because it would be wearing a mask 😷...
That isn't ironwood. I'll try and take a pic of the next ironwood log I come across when I am burning. That also would be super huge for an ironwood.

Don't see any cream in the bark and there was no complaining on the splitting so even though I would have said elm I don't think so.
