I hope my picture loads up here. I recently had a stroke of genius, I hope. I decided to apply JB Weld to my 361's gas tank around the bottom corner area behind the rubber sawdust guard. Guard? Deflector? Whatever its called. The end result is an excellent redneck chain guard. These tanks are like $300 so why take any chances right? Anyway, if the picture loads, look at it and let me know what ya'll think :msp_rolleyes:

No it was not cracked or have any holes in it. It was a little sraped up with chain marks is all. The idea was to prevent a punture from ever happening.

Welcome to AS, Squad Boss!
Unfortunately the bond between the epoxy and hdpe will eventually fail (ask me how I know...:(). It occurs because the fuel permeates the plastic and attacks the mechanical bond (that you hopefully made) by cleaning and roughening the surface with sandpaper.
A better idea would be a tank guard but I've only seen them for the 440, 046, etc.

Another option is to do what Lakeside53 did with this thread:

It looks nice too!;)
