Jonsered 2258

Anybody on here cut with a 2258? I was at the dealer the other day and was checking them out. It looked like the price was decent on them, I have not been able to find much info on them though.

Its the same as the Husky 555....probably the best firewood saw out there.

It was just under $600 bucks which didint seem too bad, is a guy better off paying the extra money to go with a 2166?

600 is full retail with tax on the 2258. call one of us sponsors that are jonsered dealers if you want a good deal.

I think at 600 you would almost be able to buy a ported 2258. add another 150 and that's what I get for a ported 2258

Terry what's better in your opinion a 2258 or 2166 for all around use?

depends on desired bar length. if a 20'' is the max and mostly 16-18 wood then the 2258 would do fine. if the bar is going to be 20 or bigger then id go 2166 with tranfers cleaned up to make it a 2172. the 2166 is the best bang for your buck in my opinion

Hello! I've bought recently a almost "new" Jonsered 2258, that cost me around 320$.
It has the EL47 carb body.
Year of production 2012. But, I saw a guy here in Romania selling brand new 2258 with the S/N 2012. What's about these years of production? I'm really confused about that...

I did a small muffler mod to it...the baffles are intact, just made a hole under the deflector.






Lifted the deflector with a needle nose plier.
















And made a small mod to improve cooling. Cut a piece of the cylinder cover.

Wood is over 6 year old dry mulberry and is also frozen!
