Thanks mdalvee appreciate you checking. Been doing much milling lately? l am going to try some square ground on the mill when l find a nice piece of wood, l here square works well.

Has anyone setup a 2260 with an 18" bar? I stopped in a dealer yesterday & picked up a 562xp with a 20", seemed a lot heavier than I expected. I am kicking around a 2260 with an 18", hopefully that was just a heavy cheap 20" bar. The 555 seemed lighter, is that the jred 2258?

Put a lighter bar on the 562xp. 20" TechLite is noticeably lighter than a standard bar!

I have a 18" small mount sugi hara light weight bar for a 2260

It is (or rather the other way around).

The 560xp, 2260, 555 and 2258 all are lighter than the large mount 562xp.
I had wondered why the 2260 was listed as lighter, now I know. Thanks, it was overall larger than I expected, is the 2260 a little smaller width wise as well? I haven't called around enough to see if any jred dealers had a 2260 to look at.

The width is the same as far as I know - but the 562xp has a higher air filter and filter cover, accounting for part of the weight difference.

The 2253 is the hardest to get out of friends hands. That includes the 346xp. All of mine are modded, so I'm not sure how to rate them compared to other stock saws. The 2188 is impressive with a 24" bar. It has a 36 or 32 for it, but I don't have any wood that large, yet.

2253- All around limbing and trimming with an 18" bar, small to medium felling. Light, maneuverable, good pick up.

2172- 20 and 28" bars. That would cover everything else I'd usually encounter, large bucking and felling.

I'd prefere a 16" on the 550xp/2253, just because of the balance - but each to their own!
